Throughout his life, Michael Jordan felt an intense passion for competition and speed, the game of Basketball almost completely satisfied this passion as it provided him with an outlet to satisfy his hunger for both. Once he stepped away from the game, the absence of this outlet pushed him to seek other ways to quench his competitive thirst. In 2003, Michael Jordan founded Michael Jordan's Motorsports, a competitive Motorcycle racing team lead by riders Aaron Yates and Jake Holden. The Motorsports team represented MJ's "New Love" and the team's original colors inspired several of the recently released "Yellow/Black" Air Jordan Retro colorways.
To celebrate their fourth year running, Jordan Brand and Michael Jordan's Motorsports came together to create the "MJ Motorsports" Air Jordan Retro IV. Based on the publicly released "Mars" Air Jordan Retro IV, the "MJ Motorsports" Air Jordan Retro IV reinterpretes the "Fire Red" IV with the team's new Blue/White/Black motorcycle and uniform colors.
